8/21/10 to 8/28/10 Dear Linda, Speaking for my family we had an enjoyable and productive week at Fiddlesticks. We have at various times vacationed at the Outer Banks but not at a location as gratifying as this. As a judge for 40 years I have traveled and been housed at many sites from China to Italy, but find this location as satisfying as the best. In particular, with the elevator available to us, my wife, with need for extra support in moving from floor to floor deeply appreciated the totality of the living arrangements. Beautiful tranquility! I have stayed at this location in August the past 2 years. When we arrived, the place was clean and well maintained. The elevator made unpacking easy, and the space was big enough for my family of 10(family reunion). We usually bought groceries and cooked, which the kitchen provided all the necessities. We go out to eat one night during our week, and we wait no less than 60 minutes for any restaurant, making the kitchen all more important. My mother is in her 80's, so the elevator allowed her access to all 3 floors, depending on where we gathered. The 3 covered porches allowed peaceful swinging during the quiet nights. We never met the owner, but the neighbors who are residents did invite us to their block party. The hot tub provided a relaxing time every morning and night. The laundry facilities allows us to not take extra clothes just in case. There is a waterway behind the house that is perfect for taking a little dip without having to endure the crowds at the beach. The grill on the 3rd floor deck was used too, for those days when all you want is a grilled burger or hot dog. No one in our group had any bad experience with our stay, hence we are planning our 3rd year(family reunion) at this property. I would recommend this property to anyone. |

Just a great place to stay! My family stayed here in May 09 and we had a wonderful time. Upon arrival I knew we made the correct choice. I have some physical limitations, but the elevator allowed me complete access to all three floors of the house. Not only was getting access to the whole house easy, moving our luggage in and out was a snap. The view of the waterway with boats moving in and out is pleasant. With three covered areas and a hot tub, finding a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the family is not hard to find. The house is well kept and the number of amenities is impressive. If you are looking for a place that has easy access for a family member with physical limitations and is clean, peaceful and located in an area with much to do, this is the place you want to stay!! |

This beautiful spot with deep water access was great for every member of our family. And the elevator was a Godsend for my grandmother!
