Reservations are not accepted for individuals under the age of 25.

*    How long is my reservation held?

Reservations are held for 10 days after they are placed on the website, awaiting receipt of your initial deposit.  If your deposit is not received within 10 days of making the reservation, your reservation will be removed from the website and become available for others.

*    When is my payment due?

Within 7 days from the date you make your reservation. Please write your name that the reservation was made, and dates of stay on the front of your check. Mail to:  Linda A. Michler, Fiddlesticks, 2400 Oxford Drive, #153, Bethel Park, PA 15102 .  After we receive your payment, a lease will be sent for you to sign.

*    When is the remaining balance due on my reservation?

The balance is due 45 days before your arrival date.

*    What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by personal check, money order, or certified check using only US funds drawn on a US Bank.

*     What time can we check in?

After 2pm on the date of your arrival. In order to allow sufficient time to prepare the property for your use, we ask that you do not request earlier occupancy.  You will be given an entrance code, after final payment is received, to access the home.  Keys are not provided as the home has keyless entry system.

*      What happens if we arrive late?

Since keys are not necessary to access the home, late arrival is not a problem.

*      Is smoking allowed in the home?

Smoking is not allowed in the home.  Please respect others who may occupy the home and do not smoke within the confines of the home.  Smoking is permitted on the open decks.  Please ensure that all smoke buts are extinguished and appropriately disposed.  Although every attempt is made to keep the home smoke free, no refunds are made if smoke is detected in the home.

*      How is telephone service handled?

Fiddlestick’s telephone number is included on your confirmation letter. It is equipped with telephones for local calls only.   A long distance block is in place.  Options for placing long distance calls include calling cards, credit cards, pre-paid phone cards, and collect calls.  Any unauthorized long distance calls charged to the home telephone will be billed to the individual who has made the reservations for the time of the call.

*    How do I retrieve items left during my vacation?

We will not be responsible for any items left at Fiddlesticks. We will attempt to locate items reported as left behind and, if found, return them for a fee of $35, which includes shipping. Items that are found but not claimed within 10 days will be donated to a local charity.

*   What is the maximum occupancy for the home?

Local regulations specify that two people per bedroom be allowed; as a result maximum occupancy is 8 individuals. Children over the age of 2 are counted in the occupancy total.  Having parties in the home or anywhere else on the property with more people than allowed is forbidden. No RV’s or campers may be used on the property.

*    Are there areas of the home that as renters cannot be accessed?

There are locked closets in the home considered “owner’s closets”.  These closets contain various items including materials to clean the home between rentals.  Access to these locked closets are not included in your rental.

*    What is the maximum number of vehicles permitted in the home?

Fiddlesticks can accommodate a maximum of 4 vehicles in the driveway.  If you park in other areas you may damage drain fields, waterlines and other buried utilities.

*    Is the boat lift and boat located at the dock available for renter usage?

No, the boat lift and boat located at the dock is not available for renter use. There is a boat slip that is located at the dock which can be used to dock your own boat. The area also has a ladder that extends into the water to allow use for swimming if desired.

*    What is check out time?

Our check out time is 10:00 am and must be strictly enforced to allow sufficient time to allow for thorough cleaning and servicing of the home.

*    As a renter, what are my responsibilities when checking out of the home?

We ask that you leave the home in the same condition you found the home upon arrival.  There is limited time between rentals, so we concentrate on the final touches and bathroom/kitchen sanitation during our between rental cleanings.  The following items MUST be done by the renter before leaving the home.  IF TASKS BELOW ARE NOT DONE, ADDITIONAL CLEANING FEES WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SECURITY DEPOSIT:

·        Remove all food from both refrigerators and all closets

·        Place all dirty dishes into the dishwasher

·        Damp wipe all countertops

·        Place all rented towels in the laundry room

·        Broom sweep all non-carpeted floors and wipe up any areas where spills have occurred during your stay

·        Vacuum all carpeted areas.  The home is equipped with a central vacuum and has a freestanding upright vacuum as well.

·        Place all trash in the large garbage cans located immediately outside the home and wheel the containers with trash to the end of the driveway.

·        Check all rooms, closets, drawers, beds and under beds for personal items so they are  not  accidentally left behind.

·        Make sure the hot tub cover and straps are secured

·        Close and lock all doors and windows

*    Are taxes added to my vacation rental?

Taxes are a part of the rental process.  The current tax rate for rentals is 6.75% North Carolina Sales and Use Tax along with a 5% Dare County Local Lodging Tax for a total tax of 11.75%.   This percentage is already calculated in the rental price quote.

            *  Is “handicapped friendly” the same as meeting ADA requirements?

Although Fiddlesticks meets many of the Americans with Disability Act requirements, all may not be met, which is why we indicate handicapped friendly.  If you require a specific handicap accessibility, please inform us to discuss if your needs can be met.
